Shibari ZERO
INTRODUCTION ~ THE BEGINNER’S MINDSET
“Shoshin” is a word from Zen Buddhism meaning "beginner's mind.”
It refers to having an attitude of openness, eagerness, and lack of preconceptions when studying a subject, even when studying at an advanced level, just as a beginner would.
CONTENT
The ZERO course is not necessarily a typical beginners course and follows a different track. Specifically, the ZERO course is more about framing the different styles from a philosophical point of view, questioning intentions and laying out different paths. The technical part is built on the Yagami-ryu framework, which is much about body control, positions and movement (both model and rigger). Tying techniques are also studied, but are only a fraction of the total content.
